The Pettes Library was built in 1893 and opened in 1894 by Narcissa Farand Pettes in memory of her husband Nathaniel. It was the first free rural public library in Quebec and remains a private institution open to the public and governed by a Board of Directors. You can find:
Daily newspapers, Magazines, Wireless internet access, Novels, Biographies, Non-fiction, reference and children's and teen's books, Books on CD and audiocassettes
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 12 Noon to 4:30 p.m.;
Wednesday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Friday 12 Noon to 6:00 p.m.;
Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Free membership for Brome Lake residents.
